Holloway & Naughton ® launched the new Britannia range of side-lock Over and Under shotguns at the recent Word English Sporting Championships held at the end of June, at the Lakenheath Shooting Ground and Clay Target Centre. 

The new Side-Lock, Over and Under guns are aimed primarily at the serious Game shooter, who is looking for a truly bespoke English shotgun of the finest quality. However, the range also includes a Sporting Clays model, in order to cater for the needs of those shooters too.  

Both models are available with either fixed or multi-chokes, which have been designed and made in flush or extended versions. Barrel weights are optional, with an average weight for the Game variant being approximately 7.25 lbs (3.3 Kg) with either 28” or 30” barrels, and the Sporter, with extended chokes and barrel lengths between 28” and 31”, having a total weight of approximately 8 lbs (3.6 Kg).

In addition, there is a choice of triggers on all models which are available both as fixed or adjustable variations. Both the Game and the Sporter models are available with a selection of solid or ventilated ribs.  

Noting the exacting requirements of both classifications of discerning shooter, there is a total range of custom engraving options on all of the Britannia range, and will be to the exceptional quality levels currently available on the existing Premier model.  

The stocks for both variants are the highest grade Turkish Walnut, and once more, the choice of style and configuration will be determined by the Customer. 

Both models come with “no quibble” ten year guarantee, providing the manufacturer’s guidelines have been adhered to, and in the unlikely event of a failure, the gun will be repaired free of charge, no matter where the Customer is based.    

Andrew Harvison, owner of Holloway & Naughton ® believes that this is the most exciting time for the Company since he entered the world of gun making approximately fifteen years ago. The launch of the new range of shotguns, will take the Company and the Brand to a completely new level. It is planned to introduce both the Premier and the Britannia into new and emerging markets. Plans for such activities are well developed, and will be executed over the coming months. 

Focussing on the future development of the new range, the additional calibres of 20g and 28g, will be launched at the Safari Club International Convention held in Reno Nevada USA, between the 21st to the 24th of January 2009.
